According to a press release issued by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarawak will implement the projects.

“YB Wilfred Yap will follow up with the Sarawak Drainage and Irrigation Department to ensure the implementation of these projects can be speeded up with realistic timelines and without further delays so that the benefits can be delivered to the residents who have long suffered much hardship every time a flash flood occurs.

“YB Wilfred Yap hopes that with the passing of the Ombudsman Ordinance, the efficiency for delivery of public services and public works will be improved and enhanced,” read the press release.

Yap also handed over a RM10,000 minor rural project (MRP) grant during the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Persatuan Masyarakat Taman Everbright Jaya and Taman Phoning Kuching, where he represented Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who was the guest of honour. — DayakDaily
