KUCHING, March 8: Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) will be holding this year’s fundraising dinner totalling 90 tables at Grand Riverine Ballroom by Lok Thian next Sunday (March 19).
Organising chairman George Lam invited members of the public or DAP supporters who are interested to purchase their tickets as soon as possible as there are only nine tables left.
Themed ‘Change We Must’, the fundraising dinner will be addressed by six speakers namely Federal Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Teo Nie Ching, Sabah Industry and Corporate Development Minister Phoong Jin Zhe, Sarawak DAP chairman-cum-Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen, Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, and Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong.
Meanwhile, Lam said the dinner is not only about raising funds, but also to let Sarawakians, especially Kuchingites know about the latest political landscape in Sarawak, Sabah and overall in Malaysia.
“We have both our federal deputy minister and our minister from Sabah coming over to Kuching to share their experiences in forming the government.
“Over here in Sarawak, we know that DAP’s position in Sarawak is a little awkward now.
“So, this dinner also aims to let the people know about Sarawak DAP’s future plans and our roles in the current political scenario,” said Lam in a press conference at Sarawak DAP headquarters here today.
