According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Abang Johari arrived in Jakarta today to attend the prestigious summit, which brings together world leaders, policymakers, economists and industry captains to discuss regional and global economic growth strategies.
He is expected to share Sarawak’s development journey and economic transformation, including the State’s approach to sustainable development that has increasingly drawn attention at the ASEAN and international levels.
The Premier is accompanied by Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, and other State government officials.
Held from Feb 3 to 4, IES 2026 serves as a key platform for discussions on strategic global issues, including inclusive growth, national economic models, labour mobility, trade policy, industrial investment, business competitiveness, digital transformation, ASEAN’s economic position, and strategies to address global challenges and risks.
