Suspected murderer arrested after two bodies discovered in Sg Samong, third victim survives

MATU, Feb 15: A 31-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of two women’s bodies in Sungai Samong.

Matu-Daro district police chief DSP Neil Beginda said it is believed that the suspect had attacked three Indonesian women aged between 41 to 47 on February 12 at different locations here.

“The victims were attacked and killed at different locations. Their bodies were then thrown into the river,” he said.

DSP Neil said the bodies of two of the women were found floating in the river between February 12 to 14 while the third woman managed to survive.

Her condition is reported to be stable.

“The suspect was detained at about 3.30pm on February 12 by the roadside at Jalan Sentral,” he said.

The suspect was subsequently remanded until February 22 to assist investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code. ā€” DayakDaily
