KUCHING, Jan 3: A 41-year-old unemployed man was arrested for allegedly trespassing into and stealing electric cables from the Sungai Moyan substation in Batu Kawah today.
According to Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, a police report was made by Sacofa Sdn Bhd (Sacofa) personnel at 12.30am after finding out that their substation in Sungai Moyan had been trespassed.
āBased on the information from the Padawan operation centre, police officers together with the complainant went to the substation at 1.50am and arrested the suspect.
āAmong the items seized was a 30-metre feeder cable, connector feeder (three piece)s, connector jumper (three pieces), one hacksaw, and two motorcycles,ā he disclosed in a statement today.
A background check showed that the suspect had 10 previous criminal cases involving drugs, snatching, auto theft, causing injury, and other non-index offences.
The loss is estimated at about RM1,500. The suspect, together with the confiscated items, were brought to the Batu Kawah police station for further investigation. ā DayakDaily
