SUPP Youth helps woman apply for funeral funds under KGC

KUCHING, Aug 12: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) youth has helped a member of the public to apply for Bantuan Ihsan Kematian (Funeral Fund).

SUPP Youth Central Small Medium Enterprise Bureau Chief cum SUPP Kuching Branch Youth Assistant Publicity Eric Tay had assisted a woman surnamed Kueh to claim BIK through the Sarawak Social Welfare Department.

Kueh, whose brother passed away last month, was his nominee to receive the funeral fund of RM3,000.


Tay and his team accompanied Kueh to the welfare department to submit the completed documents and BIK application form today.

Among the benefits of a Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) is the ‘Bantuan Ihsan Kematian'(BIK) RM3,000 to the beneficiary of the deceased cardholder to help cover the funeral expenses for the deceased.

Only those over 60 years old are eligible for the KGC application.

Documents needed for BIK included BIK application form, the KGC of the deceased, certification of a community leader, a copy of beneficiary bank details, a copy of beneficiary Identity Card, original death certificate of the deceased and other relevant documents.—DayakDaily
