SUPP Tupong holds ‘Duan Wu Jie’ Dragon Boat Festival celebration at Surau Al-Ansar in Matang

KUCHING, June 9: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Tupong branch held its first-ever ‘Duan Wu Jie’ Dragon Boat Festival celebration at Surau Al-Ansar in Matang.

The event aimed to promote Chinese culture to the local community.

Among the activities held during the celebration was a demonstration to make bak chang (sticky rice dumplings) participated by the Muslim residents.

After officiating at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Fadillah Yusof and his wife, Datin Ruziah Mohd Tahir, also took the opportunity to learn the skills of making bak chang.
