KUCHING, Dec 4: Is Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet line-up the best so far?
In questioning this, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Stakan branch chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok opined it would be a major task for Anwar to keep all his partners in the unity government content, which is filled with the representatives from various political parties.
According to him, through the line-up, the prime minister has reinforced his commitment to good governance, zero corruption and no racism, and economic recovery.
“Has the new prime minister selected Cabinet members that will be a balance between keeping him in power and moving our country forward in terms of increasing income and distribution of wealth among all Malaysians?
“We shall have to wait for at least 100 days or even a year before the people can pass their judgment,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Sim also conveyed his congratulations to Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) MPs who have been named into the Cabinet.
He said GPS has a deputy prime minister (the first in the history of Sarawak) and four full ministers in the new Cabinet.
“All Sarawakians will want to wish them the best in running our country in this challenging time as the world economy is going through a tough time with the Ukraine-Russia conflict, high inflation, China’s Covid-19 lockdown, and supply chain disruptions affecting economic growth in major power countries.
“Sarawak will want stability in the federal government so that our State can grow instead of focusing on endless politicking,” he added. — DayakDaily
