KUCHING, April 11: A total of 260 B40 families from 13 villages in Senadin have received donations to help them prepare for the Hari Raya celebrations.
According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Senadin assemblyman Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin stated that the recipients were needy Muslims, and that the donation distribution was an annual commitment of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin Branch.
“A total of 260 poor Muslim families, including the disabled, the extremely poor, and the elderly, have received hampers of food and monetary donations to alleviate their difficulties, especially during this festive season.
“This donation is an ongoing commitment to help raise feelings of love and happiness among the less fortunate in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations,” Lee told reporters during a Sunday (Apr 9) visit to Senadin state constituency in Miri to greet the recipients.
During the visit which was held on April 8 and 9, Lee and the SUPP Senadin Branch team distributed donations to the recipients from Kampung Masjid, Kampung Muhibbah, Kampung Batu Satu, Kampung Senadin Jaya, Kampung Pangkalan Lutong, Kampung Tudan Phase 2, Kampung Tudan Phase 4 and 5, Kampung Tanjong Batu, Kampung Haji Wahid, Kampung Lopeng Katong, Kampung Lopeng Tengah, Kampung Lembah Hijau, and Kampung Riam Jaya.
Also present were Pemanca Ling Leh King, Captain Chong Ah Muk, Captain Chai Kuen Min, Captain Ngieng Hok Diing, Captain Chong Kee Hua, Counselor Yap Siew Jin, Counselor Nicholas Toh, and Counselor Raymond Jenang. — DayakDaily
