KUCHING, July 7: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) is offering help to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) students with 10As and above to get placement in matriculation centres.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) chief Milton Foo said he has received numerous requests for help from parents and students, asking him to assist by appealing to the Federal Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) regarding this matter.

“A few days ago, Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim had promised that SPM students of all ethnic groups, regardless of skin colour, who scored 10As and above are guaranteed to enter pre-U matriculation intake.

“However, it seems contrary to the expectations as many outstanding SPM students with flying results whose appeal in matriculation has become futile,” he said in a statement today.

According to Foo, he has reported the matter to the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and SUPP president, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who instructed him to assist the affected students.

If necessary, Sim also told Foo that he would seek assistance from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof to resolve the matter.

Foo further urged SPM students with 10As and above to contact or WhatsApp him via the QR code, and he will submit the appeal to MOHE by July 15 after collecting the relevant data from them in a collective manner.

SPM students can scan the QR code to contact Milton Foo.
