SUPP man: Sarawak to prove good leadership, increased economic sources instead of going bankrupt

KUCHING, Oct 28: The Sarawak government will prove by actions and facts that it has high-quality leaders to lead and increase the economic sources for Sarawak instead of going bankrupt.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Lintang Branch Youth chief Liew Leong Yee said since Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg took office, Sarawak’s development and income have greatly improved.

This is contrary to the remark of the former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, who claimed that Sarawak would go bankrupt.

“During the Movement Control Order (MCO) time, the Sarawak government launched Sarawakku Sayang Special Aid (BKSS) to assist the people of Sarawak.

“The only one (State) in Malaysia with its own initiative. From there, (we) can see Sarawak’s Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government always cares about Sarawakians.

“Thus, I am confident that the Sarawak government will lead Sarawak to seize more of the welfare belonging to Sarawak from the political parties in West Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.

He further pointed out that the leaders of the PH government, on the other hand, created troubles for Sarawak when they were in power.

This included the suspension of Sarawak’s projects and the unfulfilled promise to provide an annual RM2,000 allocation for every Sarawakian.

On the other hand, the GPS government had successfully obtained five per cent of the State Sales Tax (SST), allowing Sarawak to increase her income to benefit the people.

Next, he mentioned that Abang Johari plans to provide free education to Sarawakians in the future.

He said this would be possible if Sarawak had a louder voice in the Parliament by winning all 31 seats in the coming 15th General Election (GE15). ā€” DayakDaily
