KUCHING, Sept 28: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) leaders today handed over some donation to a local fisherman, Bong Fook Yu who lost his boat during a fishing trip recently.

A political secretary to the Chief Minister Tan Kai, who is also a member of SUPP, together with SUPP Women chief Kho Teck Wan and SUPP Kuching branch youth assistant publicity chief Eric Tay and Aaron Tay of Tay Motor Sdn Bhd handed over some donation to Bong at his house.

The donation was collected from their friends including businessman Jacky Loo.

They discovered that Bong has lost his boat- the only tool to earn his living on September 16 after he and his crew went for a fishing trip on a stormy day.

Upon being informed by some local fishermen from Sungai Apong that Bong did not return from his fishing trip, Tan immediately contacted the marine police and Maritime Department to search for Bong.

After a whole day, Bong and his crew members were found to be safe. —DayakDaily
