KUCHING, March 11: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau chief Wilfred Yap is urging Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen to render assistance to his constituents.

Yap made the call following the neglected condition of Lorong 3, Jalan Stakan, which sports numerous potholes causing the road to be waterlogged whenever it rains. This has also affected traffic flow.

In a statement today, Yap hoped Chong, who is also Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, could secure funds from the federal government to upgrade and widen the busy Lorong 3 to improve traffic flow.

Yap said he had brought the matter to the attention of the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), and its contractor had started repair and maintenance works.

“I will continue to follow up and monitor the situation closely until the tar-sealing and repairs of the potholes and maintenance work on Lorong 3 are completed to the satisfaction of all parties,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yap said the bureau was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems or who comes across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it.

“Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go directly to the SUPP head office to request for assistance,” he said. — DayakDaily
