KUCHING, Nov 22: Senator Robert Lau Hui Yew asserts it is important for Sarawak to have political stability and continuity.

Lau, who is also Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan branch chairman, in a statement today pointed out that in Sibu, there has been a real lack of leadership in the last ten years.

“It is time to have a new team for a new Sibu,” he said when attending a 2-day briefing session for more than 100 community leaders from Bawang Assan, organised by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), held at a hotel in Sibu recently.

During the programme, Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS) board member Dato Christopher Adrian spoke about the importance of education.

He also explained that there is a need for community leaders to adopt a new way of thinking to propel the community towards greater and faster development.
