Supermarket at Mile 7, Penrissen Road catches fire

KUCHING, Sept 20: A supermarket located at Mile 7, Penrissen Road caught fire on Saturday night.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was contacted at 11.10 pm and a team was dispatched to the scene.


According to a statement from the State Bomba Operation Centre, firefighters had to forcefully open the front entrance of the supermarket to put out the fire.

The fire was later put under control at 11.36 pm and fully put out after four minutes.

The fire consumed 10 per cent of the supermarket. However no one was reported to be injured in the incident.

Commander of the operation ended the whole operation at 12.21 am. -DayakDaily
