KUCHING, July 5: A longhouse and a private residence at Mile 5, Jalan Engkudu-Peligong, Sungai Sebetan in Saratok were the focal points of a new community cluster with 45 Covid-19 cases confirmed so far.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said a total of 101 individuals linked to the Sungai Sebetan Cluster have been screened.
“Of these, 45 people tested positive for Covid-19 including the index case, 55 tested negative and one is still awaiting test results,” the committee revealed.
All positive cases from the cluster were referred and admitted to Saratok Hospital, Betong Hospital and the Betong Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) for isolation and further treatment.
SDMC also reported a second community cluster today which involved several families from different homes in Kampung Sega, Serembu in Bau.
A total of 61 individuals linked to the Sega Cluster have been screened whereby 17 people tested positive for Covid-19 including the index case, 28 tested negative and 16 are still awaiting test results.
All positive cases from the cluster were referred and admitted to Sarawak General Hospital and Kuching PKRC for isolation and further treatment. — DayakDaily
