Sungai Merah Market vendors set to move into new building this month

KUCHING, Nov 1: Vendors at Sungai Merah Market are expected to relocate to a newly completed building this month, according to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today.

Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, announced that the official launching ceremony for the new Sungai Merah Market building will take place in December this year.

He noted that Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate the ceremony.

Tiang made the remarks during his visit to the newly completed building yesterday (Oct 31).

The Pelawan assemblyman added that the new facility will offer improved amenities for traders and visitors and will be accessible for people with disabilities. — DayakDaily
