LIMBANG, July 31: The construction of the Sungai Limbang bridge has reached 74 per cent completion, despite a slight delay with full completion expected by the end of 2025.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo explained that the project will not only connect Limbang with Brunei but also drive development for residents on the opposite side of the Limbang River.
“For the Integrated Administrative Centre (IAC) Limbang, which has a budget of RM157 million, construction has reached 44 per cent and is expected to be completed by July next year,” he told TVS when met at the Sungai Limbang bridge project site today.
He noted that the IAC building will serve as a new landmark in Limbang and consolidate 15 Sarawak government agencies under one roof.
Aidel emphasised that more than 30 infrastructure projects are currently underway in Limbang and Lawas, with a total allocation exceeding RM10 billion this year.
“These projects are being executed in phases in line with the ministry’s agenda to complete them by mid-13th Malaysia Plan and before the Post-Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 begins,” he said.
He gave assurance that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) and related government agencies are actively monitoring the projects to ensure they meet their deadlines. — DayakDaily
