“As far as we know, it is confirmed that the Sultan of Selangor will be here and the Sultan of Perak might be joining us too.

“And of course, we have foreign ambassadors coming over to be with us this time,” he said in response to a reporter’s query.

Organised by Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), the annual music festival is scheduled to take place at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) from June 28 to 30.

Meanwhile, STB chief executive officer Datu Sharzede Salleh Askor said with the expected presence of royalty, there will be tighter security measures to ensure their safety.

“We have our protocol unit, the police and so forth.

“Security is definitely top in all our events all these years but with higher profile people coming in, obviously that would be our top security.

“We even have a canine unit every year to make sure we sniff out (dangerous substances) among festival goers,” she explained.

Sharzede also advised festival goers to utilise the shuttle bus service to support STB’s sustainability efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

She said the pickup points are at Plaza Merdeka and Riverside Majestic Hotel where festival goers only have to show their tickets before hopping onto the shuttle bus to get to SCV.

“If you don’t have a ticket yet but you want to use the shuttle service, then you just have to pay RM12 one way to take the shuttle bus,” she added. — DayakDaily
