KUCHING, Jan 19: The chicken egg supply in Sarawak is sufficient for the festive season, says Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak director Matthew Dominic Barin.
He said currently, 12 local suppliers in Sarawak supply 33 million Grade A, B and C eggs per month for the whole of Sarawak since November last year.
āIt is sufficient and as such, small retailers are advised to buy grade A, B, C, Omega and selenium eggs while for consumers, it is recommended to buy grade A, B, and C eggs,ā he said.
Matthew told reporters this during a press conference held after his walkabout in conjunction with Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP) in Boulevard Hypermarket here, today.
He added, egg prices in Sarawak remain unchanged according to prices which were gazetted on October 12, last year.
He said retail price for chicken eggs in Kuching, Lundu, Bau, Serian, Simunjan, Samarahan and Asajaya, are 47 sen each (grade A, 65ā69 gramme), while for grade B is 45 sen per egg, and grade C is 43 sen per egg. ā DayakDaily
