“The proposed new international airport in Kuching is set to usher in significant economic multiplier effects for Sarawak,” he said during the Ministry of Transport’s 5th Anniversary Dinner at a local hotel on Dec 5.

He described the project as more than just the construction of an airport, framing it as a transformative opportunity for Sarawak to embark on the development of an aerotropolis.

“This project represents a pivotal moment for Sarawak, marking the beginning of a new era of growth and progress,” he added.

Lee expressed his gratitude to stakeholders for their support and called for continued collaboration throughout the airport development process.

The new airport, he said, is expected to stimulate substantial economic growth, create jobs, and enhance connectivity, further strengthening Sarawak’s infrastructure and regional influence. — DayakDaily
