MIRI, Sept 21: A project to install 5.5km of street lights in Taman Tunku residential area is scheduled to start this December, said Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

In a press statement today, he said the RM300,000 project was approved under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and would involve erecting 55 units of double-pole lighting.

“This is part of the state government’s initiative for the benefit of the rakyat,” he said.

Lukanisman urged his constituents to contact him should they need help or to propose suggestions or ideas for the good of Sibuti.

He said certain areas in Taman Tunku, Kampung Lusut and Kampung Tuanku Abdul Rahman Lambir also needed street lighting and assured that they would be implemented in stages.

“Through the RTP initiative, we will continue to develop Sibuti, thanks to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for being sensitive to the needs of the people,” continued Lukanisman. — DayakDaily
