KUCHING, Dec 7: The Sessions Court here sentenced a stepfather to an imprisonment of forty years and 18 strokes of the cane for raping his stepdaughter and caused her to be pregnant.
The 40-year-old stepfather, who faced two charges, pleaded guilty to both charges today.
Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga sentenced him to an imprisonment of 20 years and nine strokes of the cane for each of the charges and ordered the imprisonment terms to run concurrently.
Therefore the accused will serve 20 years in jail with 18 strokes of the cane.
The accused was found to have committed incest with his underage stepdaughter between Jan 2019 and Dec 2019, at an unnumbered house in Kampung Sibuloh.
He was also found to have committed incest with his underage stepdaughter at the bushes near an oil palm plantation between Jan 2020 and Oct 2020 in Kampung Sibuloh.
He was charged under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term between 10 years and 30 years and liable to whipping, upon conviction. — DayakDaily
