KUCHING, Sept 22: The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (Statos) is offering a financial aid package of SDG10,000 to Sarawak small and medium businessmen involved in export business to Singapore.

Introducing it through a short video clip in his social media page, Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said it was part of an assistance package offered by Statos, apart from providing an office space in Singapore showcasing Sarawakian products and assisting to push such products in the Singapore market.

“Many Sarawak companies have successfully exported their products to Singapore and some of these food products are found in their (Singaporeans’) supermarkets.

“For those in Sarawak yet to make use of this facility (the Statos office), you know that, there is a promotional scheme, the ‘Promotion Assistance Scheme’ called ‘Pass’ (which offers) up to SGD10,000 a year to help you to promote your business in Singapore,” said Dr Sim.

According to Statos’ brochure, Pass is a key Sarawak government financial assistance programme for small to medium aspiring and growing export-ready businesses.

The purpose of the scheme is to encourage local businesses to export their products and grow internationally.

This Pass scheme is eligible to exporters with certified products and export promotion expenses.

The subsidy is strictly on an equal sharing basis, capped at maximum of SGD10,000 financial support for each applicant in a year. — DayakDaily
