State to hold inaugural O&G seminar and exhibition

KUCHING, Feb 22: The state will hold its first oil and gas seminar and exhibition to prepare local players and stakeholders on its much awaited venture into the oil and gas industry.

Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce (DUBS) has been tasked to organise the inaugural conference aimed to gain professional views and inputs from industry experts.

The proposed seminar is expected to take place in April.


DUBS president Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan led a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today to discuss on the progress of the impending seminar and exhibition.

In the afternoon, Abang Johari received a courtesy visit from Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros) board members, led by its chairman Tan Sri Hamid Bugo and chief executive officer Saau Kakok.

The chief minister was briefed on the development of the state’s oil and gas sector and issues towards making its participation in the industry a reality. — DayakDaily
