KUCHING, June 16: The Sarawak Family has fostered strong bonds through various festive celebrations which serve as a platform to rekindle people’s understanding, respect, tolerance and acceptance for each another.

“This is what we want to achieve through the celebration of festivals. We do not want our festivals to be just another festival or just another holiday without any particular objectives.

“Festivals are occasions for us to celebrate and to promote communal harmony and to build social relations and social communications among us through our culture of holding open house or one such as what we are celebrating today.

“This is one way for us to work together to achieve desirable results in the State civil service,” he said when speaking at the Premier of Sarawak’s Department Raya-Gawai celebration at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex here today.

Citing Henry Ford’s quote of “Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”, Jaul expressed his hope that all civil servants in Sarawak will continue to work diligently as a strong and united team to achieve the mission and vision of the Sarawak government in line with the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“It is also important for all civil servants to put aside selfishness and always be humble and not arrogant.

“Congratulations to every unit in the Premier of Sarawak’s Department for making this celebration a success,” he added.

Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg later officiated at the function and took a tour of all the booths showcasing a wide variety of food in Sarawak.
