State govt supportive of helping women gain opportunities, expertise

KUCHING, Oct 28: The government will always open up opportunities for women in any area of expertise so that they can uplift themselves and their families.

Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said that among the areas being offered are entrepreneurship for the small and medium enterprises.

“It will open up opportunities and room to improve social economic wellbeing, espeically among women as catalysts in the family institution.


“It was fortunate that in Pantai Damai constituency, a variety of programmes have involved women, even until producing entrepreneurs with millionaire status.”

Dr Abdul Rahman who is the assemblyman for Pantai Damai said this in his speech when officiating at “Majlis Perasmian Karnival Wanita Pantai Damai” at Mydin Shopping Mall Bandar Baru Samariang today.

He also lauded Pantai Damai Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women Branch members as for successfully organised such programme and activities with the local community in conjunction with the World Women’s Day celebration

“This type of programme can help women to stand out among their peers and further develop our community and we hope that their husbands can give their wives morale support in whatever area they participate in business,” he said.

He added this type of activity can give much positive exposure for young people and further motivate those involved to be much better in their undertakings.

Also present at the programme were his wife Datin Shorgayah Ahmad Zaiden, PBB Pantai Dama Women Chief Jamaiyah Sulaiman, Mydin Bandar Baru Samariang manager Sutaghani Ahmad Zaidol and other guests. — DayakDaily
