KUCHING, Oct 13: A State Banquet was held to celebrate the 78th birthday of the Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Ja’afar last night (Oct 12).
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the event, which was held at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Banquet Hall, was graced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg together with his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.
Wan Junaidi arrived at the banquet accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
At the event, a special video titled ‘Dari Rimba Ke Astana’ was shown, highlighting Wan Junaidi’s journey before becoming the Head of State.
The evening also showcased performances from local artists, including Herman Tino, Dayang Nurfaizah, Bob Yusuf, Gab, Mel Imran, Firdaus Materang, and Claudia, as well as a special appearance by Bunga Citra Lestari.
Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof; Deputy Premiers of Sarawak Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Sarawak Cabinet Ministers; and Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki were among the guests present. — DayakDaily
