KUCHING, Feb 24: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government will allocate RM150 million to cities like Malacca, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching to expand and implement their Stage Bus Service Transformation programme.

“The allocation is important, as the urban community use bus and rail transportation daily to commute from their home and workplace,” he said when tabling the revised Budget 2023 in Parliament today.

In regards to air services, which are the main mode of transportation for the people in rural Sabah and Sarawak, the government will continue to allocate a subsidy of RM209 million.

He also revealed that seven airports in Sabah and Sarawak would be upgraded with wheelchair ramps.

“This is to accommodate those who are using wheelchairs and to benefit them when flying with MASWings,” he said. — DayakDaily
