KUCHING, July 28: Kapit—now increasingly envied by other areas for its strong spirit of collaboration among all parties—must maintain this momentum to ensure that development reaches every part of the division.

Its MP, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, said that the people of Kapit must learn from the past when the political scene was unstable, which made it difficult for development to kick off.

“However, since politics came under one roof—Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)—and its elected representatives began working well together, even though the people still strongly desire development, Kapit has now advanced significantly, just as we had once dreamed,” he said in a Facebook post.

Nanta, the federal Minister of Works, stated that stable politics, with elected representatives working closely together, ensures that the machinery for policy implementation and development planning can carry out its roles and responsibilities effectively and smoothly.

Meanwhile, at the Kapit Division Thanksgiving and Appreciation Ceremony on Sunday (July 27), he presented tokens of appreciation to retired government staff as well as to staff who have been transferred.

“To the retired government staff, I express my gratitude, and to those who have been relocated, I hope they gain valuable experience and carry the good image of Kapit to their new workplaces.” — DayakDaily
