KUCHING, Feb 6: The blessing of Mandarin oranges for Chinese New Year at St Peter’s Church, here will be in the form of drive-thru this year.
A notice released by the church said parishioners are welcomed to bring their oranges to the Church in their cars from Feb 8 to 10 either from 9am to 12pm or 2pm to 5pm.
Further instructions said to place the oranges at the back seat of the car on the passenger side and to stop at the front porch of the present Church for the blessing.
Parishioners are to wind down the back seat window and remain seated in the vehicle throughout the entire process to avoid any physical contact.
The Church urged those who are present for the event to stay in queue in their cars and exit in an orderly manner.
For those who wish to give a ‘love offering’ as a token of appreciation which the Church would use to help the poor and needy, they may do so by donating through online transfer or Sarawak Pay. — DayakDaily
