KUCHING, Aug 13: St Joseph’s International School (SJIS) has once again proven its academic excellence by achieving a 100 per cent pass rate in the Cambridge International AS Level May–June 2025 examinations, with 75 per cent of students scoring a grade B or higher in all subjects.
According to a press release, the students excelled across seven subjects, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Business, Computer Science, and Economics, with average marks of 73 per cent and above, reflecting the success of the school’s balanced curriculum spanning both sciences and humanities.
“Business Studies students achieved a 100 per cent A grade rate, demonstrating exceptional understanding of real-world applications and entrepreneurial principles.
“Chemistry and Physics recorded an impressive average score of 80 per cent, while Mathematics and Biology followed closely with average scores of 78 per cent, showcasing consistent performance in critical science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
“More than 50 per cent of students scored A in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, while over 80 per cent achieved B grades or higher in Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science. In Economics, half of the cohort attained at least a B grade,” the press release stated.
Among the high achievers, Andrea Wong stood out with straight 4 A’s, while Issachar Chan Zech and Nicholas Kho scored 3 A’s each. Other commendable students include Carmen Chaw, Eunice Ooi, Jorryn Kong, and Sarah Tan, who each earned at least 2 A’s.
SJIS principal Br Robert Teoh FMS expressed pride in the results, attributing the success to the hard work of students and the dedication of teachers.
“Congratulations to all our students on their outstanding Cambridge AS Level results! Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and you should be incredibly proud of this achievement.
“A heartfelt thank you and congratulations also go to our teachers. Your commitment and guidance have been instrumental in achieving the continued improvement and success of this year’s results,” he said.
He added that the results reflect not only academic achievement but also the strong sense of community and shared commitment to excellence at SJIS.
