Sri Aman fire victims receive aid

SRI AMAN, April 15: The incident involving six families in Kampung Hilir Sri Aman here whose home was destroyed in a fire on April 5, continues to gain attention from various parties.

A representative of the victims, Jamel Tuah, received a donation from Harakah Islamiah (HIKMAH) Sri Aman Branch who visited the families here on Saturday.

Dato Wan Abdillah Edruce Wan Abdul Rahman, the head of Hikmah Sri Aman, contributed cash, home appliances and food to ease their burden.


Also contributing to the families of the victims were the Helwa and the Silat White Sutra Teachers School Sri Aman Branch.

“I am saddened by the fire that destroyed a house in which the residents of the house consisting of six families lost their shelter and possessions.

“I hope their families are patient and always have the spirit and faith in facing challenges,” he said, when meeting the fire victims in Kampung Hilir Sri Aman.

Meanwhile, Jamel said he was grateful and thankful to the donors who were concerned about the fate of his family.

“Thank you for the contribution given by Hikmah Sri Aman and Helan Putih Sri Aman Silat Helper and Teachers. With this donation, we can relieve the burden of my family.

“I also thank all those involved directly or indirectly who have visited since the day of the incident,” he said.

In the fire which took place at around 12 noon on April 5, Jamel’s house in Kampung Hilir Sri Aman was completely destroyed by fire. — DayakDaily
