KUCHING, Feb 24: A small fire that broke out inside a tenant lot at The Spring Bintulu early this morning was successfully extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system, preventing further damage.
In a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 3.35am, and firefighters from the Bintulu station were deployed.
It was noted that a report was received from security personnel regarding a fire inside a shop in the mall. The operations commander (PKO) was awaiting maintenance personnel to open the shop window for size-up and further action.
“The fire involved only the cash drawer box machine inside the shop. No firefighting operations were carried out. The fire was extinguished by the shop’s internal sprinkler system,” said the report.
Meanwhile, The Spring Bintulu issued a statement on the incident on its Facebook page.
