KUCHING, Aug 2: Gleaming luxury BMW SUVs and sedans are lining up at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) to pick up artists and their entourages who are here for the Asean International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA).
If you happen to be at KIA today, you will notice a row of eye-catching BMW vehicles parked outside the arrival hall.
At any one time, there will be four or five of them there, ready to pick up international artists and stars who are heading to AIFFA which will be held Aug 2 to 4, including Korean superstar Rain.
One of the drivers told DayakDaily that BMW Dealership Malaysia Regas Premium Auto has readied 10 luxury BMW SUVs and sedans to transport AIFFA artists.
With five vehicles consisting of the BMW X3, X5, iX, and 7 series seen today at the airport, he said, there are another five standing by at hotels.
The three-day AIFFA is a world-class event that celebrates Southeast Asian movies, gathering filmmakers, screenwriters, directors, cinematographers, actors, actresses and celebrities from 10 Asean countries.
It is a biennial festival that was initiated by Sarawak in 2013 with the objective of promoting Kuching as a cultural and performing arts hub and a centre for creative industries, as well as to enable filmmakers around Asean to network and collaborate. — DayakDaily
