Special concert performance by SONS, MSS to commemorate Abang Johari’s 72nd birthday

KUCHING, Aug 3: For the first time, the Sarawak State Symphony Orchestra (SONS) and Sarawak Arts Council (MSS) presented a special concert titled ‘Muzikal Sarawak Harmoni Pemimpin Berjiwa Rakyat Di Sini Lahirnya’ in Limbang Division, specifically for Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Limbang community.

The special concert performance took place tonight at the Limbang auditorium in Limbang to commemorate Abang Johari’s 72nd birthday and the opening of the Limbang museum on Aug 4, 2022.

The programme was also attended by Sarawak Premier’s wife, Datuk Amar Jumaani Tuanku Bujang and other guests of honour.

SONS entertained guests and residents of Limbang with contemporary songs by local singers Iwas Dasri, Dayangku Fadzillah, Hijrah Yahya, and Syafiq.

Furthermore, artists from the Limbang Division entertained the audience with Silat, Hadrah, and Traditional Dances such as the Adai-Adai dance.

SONS also performed alongside special guest artists Datuk Ramli Sarip and Bob Yusuf, who were flown in from West Malaysia specifically for the Sarawak Premier and the guests on the night of the performance.

MSS would like to thank everyone who helped make the programme a success, including the Limbang Resident Office, Limbang District Office, government departments/agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and the Limbang community.

In addition, MSS hopes that the “Muzikal Sarawak Harmoni Pemimpin Berjiwa Rakyat ‘Di Sini Lahirnya’” concert performance will be able to entertain the people of Limbang and achieve the programme’s goal of popularising the SONS’s art programme to the community and youth of Limbang.
