KUCHING, Nov 23: United People’s Party (UPP) president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, who is also the Minister of International Trade and eCommerce, said it is still too early to comment whether his party plans to join Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“We will cross the bridge when we get there. After all, it is too soon to comment on it,” he told reporters after holding a press conference on “eCommerce Shoutout 2018” programme at his ministry in Baitulmakmur Building here today.

“We will definitely discuss with the Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) about this later on.”

Wong fielding questions from the press.

UPP is currently undergoing a rebranding process with both a new name and logo.

On the party’s new name that is speculated to be Parti Sarawak Bersatu, Wong replied that this matter would be discussed during the party’s Extraordinary Delegates Conference (EDC) on Dec 8.

“It has to go through our EDC to get it (name and logo) approved before we send it to RoS (Registrar of Societies) for proper registration.

“It’s too early to talk about this. At the right moment, I’ll call for a press conference,” he assured. — DayakDaily
