Soon Koh expected to vacate his office in August

SERIAN, July 20: Second Finance Minister Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh is expected to vacate his ministerial office including his International Trade and E- Commerce Ministerial office in August.

This was indicated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg this afternoon when approached by reporters after launching the Zone 4B Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) branch at Kampung Pichin here.


“He’s on leave (now). Yes, he tendered (his resignation). He’s on (clearing) leave first.

“He (has) got outstanding leave, I forgot how long, I think up to August. After the leave, he will leave (office),” Abang Johari said.

Wong, who is also Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president, had paid a courtesy call to Abang Johari on July 18 (Thursday) at the Chief Minister’s Office to tender his resignation.

In an interview with TV Sarawak and Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) after the courtesy call that, he said: “We will continue to work hard. I as president of PSB will do everything to help the Chief Minister to work hard for the people and the state of Sarawak.” — DayakDaily
