Sombre milestone: Sarawak reports 1,625th Covid-19 death

KUCHING, Jan 26: Sarawak reported its 1,625th Covid-19 fatality today, involving a 64-year-old man from Sri Aman.

According to reports by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the deceased had medical histories of hypertension, diabetes and heart attack.


Meanwhile, the State reported 13 new Covid-19 cases involving five districts with Miri accounting for the most new cases with six.

Sibu came in second with three cases, followed by Kuching with two and Limbang and Pusa with one case each.

By clinical categories, there were eight Category 1 cases with no symptoms and five Category 2 cases with mild symptoms.

This thus pushed the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases Statewide to 252,732 as of today.

There were no new Covid-19 clusters reported in the community. — DayakDaily
