Soldier pleads guilty to robbing woman with penknife in Kota Sentosa

KUCHING, April 14: A soldier pled guilty to a charge of robbing a woman using a penknife.

The 20-year-old accused from Melaka was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 397 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 14 years and whipping, upon conviction.


Sessions Court Judge Afidah Abdul Rahman set April 22 for further mention to hear the social report of the accused and allowed the accused to be released on bail of RM5,000 and with one local surety.

The accused allegedly robbed a 22-year-old victim in front of a shop at Kota Sentosa, at about 4.30pm on March 6, 2022.

It was understood that the accused was in debt.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Aiman Mutalib Mohamad Shariff prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
