SOCOE, Tencent ink MoU to accelerate Sarawak’s digital transformation

KUCHING, Nov 13: Sarawak-based technology company SOCOE Holdings has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tencent Cloud to explore strategic partnerships in digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) innovation.

The signing, held in conjunction with Tencent Cloud Day Singapore at Raffles Hotel, Singapore, on Nov 11, marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration between the two organisations in advancing AI-driven solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the partnership, both parties will leverage their respective expertise—SOCOE’s local market insights and technology innovation capabilities, and Tencent Cloud’s strength in cloud-native architecture, large-scale AI infrastructure and data-driven technologies.

The collaboration will focus on the adoption of advanced AI capabilities, including generative AI, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and scalable data management systems to enhance interoperability, cloud scalability, localisation and secure AI-enabled services.

SOCOE Holdings managing director JW Sam said the partnership reflects SOCOE’s commitment to continuously strengthen data and AI capabilities in line with evolving industry demands.

Tencent Cloud International’s regional director for Southeast Asia and general manager for Singapore and Malaysia, Kenneth Siow, said the partnership aims to foster practical, AI-driven solutions that can support digital ecosystems in the region.

“Together, we aim to develop practical AI-driven approaches that strengthen digital foundations and create intelligent services for communities and businesses,” he said.
