KUCHING, Dec 8: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) has the distinction of being awarded The BrandLaureate Brand of The Year Award 2022 (e-Branding in Enterprise – Digital Innovation Solutions), says Datuk Snowdan Lawan.

Snowdan, who is Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts and also Tegas Board of Trustee (Treasurer), said this achievement could not have been possible without the cooperation and efforts of all Tegas staff and all ecosystem partners.

“I would like to thank The Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Sarawak government for entrusting Tegas in accelerating the growth of startups and social enterprises in Sarawak,” he said.

Snowdan said this in his speech when accepting the award on behalf of the Tegas Board of Trustees at The BrandLaureate Brand of The Year Award 2022 Gala Dinner at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday (Dec 7).

Tegas won the award for its Tegas Digital Village (TDV), which is a recognition of the organisation’s efforts and commitment in empowering startups and social enterprises in Sarawak through the Tegas Digital Village (TDV) and Tegas Digital Innovation Hub (TDIH) since 2017.

TDV and TDIH are catalytic initiatives undertaken by the Sarawak government through Tegas to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2018-2022 and Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

TDV was officially launched by the Premier of Sarawak on Nov 22, 2021, aimed at supporting startup growth and facilitating technology transfer and commercialisation. — DayakDaily.
