KUCHING, July 3: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bako creates a new historic milestone as the third best school in the State for excelling in the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) 2020 result.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said SMK Bako has once again excelled in the field of education for being among the three best schools with an Overall Grade Point Average (PNGK) of 3.00 and above.
“The students, teachers and parents, including the cooperation from the SMK Bako Parent and Teachers Association (PIBG), are definitely exultant with the result, because they are the determining factor to the success,” he said when commenting on SMK Bako achievement in the STPM 2020 results, on Friday.
Meanwhile, SMK Bako PIBG chairman Ali Mat Sah when contacted, said he also expressed his happiness with the school’s achievement, which is an extraordinary achievement for a rural school.
He said the success is due to four main factors, which is attributed to the school administration, dedication of the teachers, roles of the parents, student initiatives besides support from the elected representatives.
Ali explained the school management, especially the commitment from teachers and staff in providing extra curriculum activities and Home-based teaching and learning (PdPR), especially with the relevant subjects, in addition to the roles of the parents, who wanted their children to get into the higher learning institutes (IPT).
“At the same time, the support from the local assemblyman Dr Hazland, who has contributed a lot of yearly allocation to the PIBG, to ensure the continuation of the school’s curriculum activities, and at the same time, improving the education quality,” he added. — DayakDaily
