KUCHING, July 15: SME Association of Sarawak will reach out to other trade associations for opportunities to work together on initiatives that can benefit the industry, said new president Jordan Ong Chung Siang.

Jordan in a statement today said the emphasis is on the small-medium enterprise (SME) sector, which will be critical to the growth of the State’s economy.

“SME Association of Sarawak always played an important role on behalf of entrepreneurs in Sarawak, engaging various ministries and regulatory bodies as well as fellow industry players.

“This is to ensure that the channels of communication and cooperation are always active in the pursuit for a conducive ecosystem for SMEs to thrive and drive the economy.

“This is something we hope to build on in the new term as the past couple of years has restricted greater working relations somewhat,” he said.
