SIBU, Aug 30: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah are expected to be warmly received when they make a stop here as part of their visit to Sarawak.
Speaking at the Sibu Municipal Council full board meeting today, its chairman Clarence Ting said the town is very honoured that his Royal Highness is coming here.
“We are very honoured to have Yang di-Pertuan Agong visiting us as it is not very often that he can come here,” said Ting.
According to Ting, they will be serving dabai fruit, ‘pulut panggang’ and other local delicacies to the Agong when he visits the central market here.
“Our menu for his Royal Highness’ light breakfast includes dabai fruits together with other local foods which such as ‘pulut panggang,” said Ting
Ting said his Royal Highness would be riding on a golf cart to the central market from a hotel at 8.30am on Sept 12.
“We have prepared five golf carts for the Agong and his entourage to the central market. He will tour the market to see especially the ayam bungkus and have breakfast with local people,” he added.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will set off on the Sarawak leg of their āKembara Kenali Borneoā tour from Sept 7 to 13.
They are expected to arrive here on Sept 11 from Bintulu.
Their first stop would be at Yu Lung Tian En Si Temple, follow by a community dinner at Malay Union Club Hall. ā DayakDaily
