Slithery intruder nabbed in woman’s bedroom

MIRI, Sept 26: A 48-year-old woman in Taman Hitchii, Jalan Riam here was petrified when she discovered a one-metre long snake inside her bedroom on Tuesday evening (September 25).

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she spotted the snake slithering into her bedroom around 4pm that day, while resting inside the room.

“It was a very scary moment for me, as I didn’t know what to do,” she said.


She was able to grab her cellphone and contacted the Malaysia Civil Defence Department (JPAM) for assistance.

Two rescuers from JPAM were mobilised to the scene and arrived at 4.30pm.

They managed to catch the reptile within 15 minutes.

According to the complainant, she believed that the snake might had gained entry into her room via the washroom.

“It was my first time encountering this kind of reptile,” she said. — DayakDaily
