MIRI, March 21: A 41-year-old man was sweeping the compound of his house at Shiang Shiang Garden here on Wednesday night when suddenly he spotted something slithering on the floor.

Feeling suspicious, the man approached for a closer look. Upon realising it was a snake, he quickly sought refuge inside his house and used his mobile phone to call for assistance at about 7pm.

A team of three Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel rushed to the location and helped remove the reptile. It took them less than 15 minutes to secure the reptile.

No injuries reported in the incident.

According to the house owner, it was first time such an incident has happened and he thanked the APM Miri for their swift response. — DayakDaily
