KUCHING, Jan 6: SK Tebelu in Simunjan has been successfully completed and officially handed over, marking a significant milestone in the redevelopment of dilapidated schools across Sarawak.
According to a post on its social media, Public Works Department (JKS) Sarawak said the project includes a four-story Administrative Block (Type B), a Pre-School Block (Type B), and a Pump House Block (Type B).
The completion of these modern and comfortable educational facilities reflects JKR Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to improving access to quality education, particularly in rural areas.
JKR Sarawak director Datu Ir Dr Cassidy Morris visited the school on Monday (Jan 5) to inspect the completed project.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of construction, noting that it was carried out according to the scope, specifications, and standards set by the JKR Sarawak.
“Implemented under the RM1 billion allocation for Phase 1 of the Redevelopment of Dilapidated Schools in Sarawak, the project aims to provide safe, comfortable, and modern facilities aligned with current educational needs.
“The new infrastructure will greatly benefit the students and staff, enhancing their overall learning experience,” he said.
Cassidy also expressed his gratitude to the project team, contractors, and all parties involved for their dedication and cooperation in ensuring the project’s successful completion.
