KUCHING, Sept 12: The roof of SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim’s school hall in Kem Semenggo, Kota Sentosa, is set for a major upgrade costing RM100,000, funded through Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap’s Rural Transformation Project (RTP).

The project, awarded to Pro Excel Enterprise, is expected to be completed by February 2025.

In a statement, Yap shared that the need for roof repairs was first raised by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) two years ago due to severe leaks whenever it rained.

He urged the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak to closely monitor and oversee the project to ensure timely completion with high-quality results.

“This is to ensure that the project benefit all students of the school where they have a comfortable and conducive school hall for their extra-curricular activities,” he said after handing over of the award letter and site today.

Additionally, Yap provided a RM5,000 grant to the PTA to support academic and educational programmes. — DayakDaily
