KUCHING, March 11: The school hall at SJKC Stampin along Jalan Tun Jugah has received a RM200,000 upgrade under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023, enhancing facilities for students and school activities.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap today conducted a final inspection and officially handed over the completed project, accompanied by officers from the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak.
“Providing a safe and conducive learning environment for our students is very important. I will continue to work closely with government agencies, schools, and parent-teacher associations to enhance facilities in our schools,” he said in a statement today.
The improvements to the hall included the installation of an LED screen, a public address (PA) system, and other upgrades designed to support school programmes.
Yap noted that the visit marked the completion of the project, which commenced following the issuance of the Letter of Award to the appointed contractor. The JKR supervised the implementation to ensure high-quality work and compliance with standards.
During the inspection, he expressed satisfaction with the completed works and reaffirmed that improving education facilities remains a top priority in the constituency. He also extended his thanks to JKR officers, the school management, and the contractor for their cooperation and commitment in ensuring the project met all required standards.
Yap added that he will continue to utilise RTP allocations strategically and fairly to upgrade schools, community halls, and other public infrastructure in Kota Sentosa. — DayakDaily
